美總統大選不到一周，選情進入最後關頭，雙方陣營鎖定關鍵搖擺州用力催票。川普2日到佛羅里達進行數場造勢活動；希拉蕊走訪內華達與亞歷桑納，黨內重量人物總動員，到各地為她宣傳。
共和黨總統候選人川普近月三度到訪大票倉佛州。他在邁阿密、奧蘭多與彭薩科拉等地宣傳。向來講話誇張的川普，在佛州表現出少見自律，似認定自己能否選上，全看這裡的選民臉色。川普把所剩無幾寶貴時間放佛州，副手彭斯則足跡遍及亞歷桑納、新墨西哥與科羅拉多州。
聯邦調查局重啟「電郵門」事件，令希拉蕊原本些微領先態勢出現變數，反之，川普則因共和黨選民回流更加壯膽，不但緊抓佛州，也要搶攻中西部傳統傾向民主黨的關鍵州。
而奉行白人至上的「三K」黨機關報《十字軍報》1日宣布力挺川普，表示美國之所以偉大，是因共和黨人多為白人基督徒。這背書讓川普陣營超尷尬，火速劃清界線。
民主黨方面同樣不敢大意。希拉蕊2日在內華達與亞歷桑納造勢，副總統拜登前往佛州。拜登在棕櫚灘花園市向群眾說，「只要佛州贏，選舉就結束啦。大選日那天我們就可提早睡覺！」希拉蕊陣營至10月19日止，握有資金逾6200萬美元，因此選前最後一周，加碼購買各關鍵州電視時段。
此外，美國廣播公司（ABC）和《華盛頓郵報》1日公布民調，川普支持率超前希拉蕊1個百分點，嚇得全球股市皮皮挫。但根據路透╱易普索2日發布每日民調追蹤，希拉蕊又領先川普6個百分點。同時，紐時與哥倫比亞廣播公司公布最新民調，希拉蕊支持率45%，僅領先川普3個百分點，顯示希拉蕊領先幅度正下降，彰顯選情撲朔迷離。
